MTC Week Six: 12 daysss
Hallo!
This week, with the new PDAY and all, felt like an eternity. Literally like an eternity. But hey I’m alive and made it to PDAY. This past week was good though! We had A LOT of language study, and a lot a lot of Book of Mormon study. But it is always fun learning new things.
One question I get a lot is "What is German like?” Well, I am going to answer that here on this email so I answer that for everyone. German is hard to get used to, since I learned French for 9 years and have really had that accent down, my teachers make fun of me for having that lil French accent in there somewhere. The words can be long, but they are very fun to say. If you think German is like an angry, mean-sounding language, it is for sure not. The only reason people think that is because the only time they have heard it is in WWII movies when Germans are yelling. It is a very pretty language. The sentence structures and stuff kick my rear man oh man. But, the more you speak, the easier it gets. Well, easier is an overstatement but yes it does help to speak as much as you can. I leave in 12 days for the Mother Land and I could not be more scared, anxious, as well as pumped out of my mind. Looking back on the last 5 weeks, I have realized how much we have studied and dedicated time to the language, and Gospel Study -- like 8 hours a day, 7 days a week for 5 weeks! The math is easy but I'm tired so don't wanna do the numbers but wow it’s nuts. We have this joke that Elder Burch and I always talk about. We say the MTC is like the movie Holes. All the questions match up to the movie like "How long you been in here" or "Why you in here for so long" or "What’s your name what’s your story". It is so funny. Maybe I think its funny because I am slowwlyyyy going insane, but nonetheless it is funny.
Sorry this week’s email is a little short and not very interesting…I love you all and hope everyone is doing well. If anyone has the chance, read 2 Nephi chapter 4. It is the bomb. Love you!!
